Gaara untold stories: Sleeping on the job

So this is my second story to my untold stories series this ones for Gaara! He's my favorite. Anyways the next story to the Untold series will be for Shikamaru ;)

The dull scratching sound of pen on paper filled the Kazekages office. It had been only two days after he had finally returned to Suna after being kidnapped by the Akatsuki, and he was already back at work. His siblings urged him to take a few days off to recover from his injuries that had not fully healed. The young Kazekage however ignored them knowing someone had to run the village, and now that he was back it was rightfully his job to do so.

Despite how hectic things had been when he first returned, things now felt relatively calm. However... there was something troubling Gaara. Something he couldn't quite explain. He knew it must have something to do with the absence of Shukaku now that he no longer rested dormant within him. He couldn't think straight, and doing his paperwork grew increasingly difficult. His head felt groggy, and he couldn't concentrate on anything. With his mind like this he wasn't getting any paperwork done, usually he was quick with these and understood them easily. Kankuro who was also in his office was looking over some files a jounin brought in about the security on the border. He too seemed to notice the sudden change in Gaaras personality.

"Hey Gaara you sure your ok?  Kankuro asked his younger brother.

Gaara sighed heavily. "I'm fine..."

"Well you could take a day or two off ya know? and your healing rates a lot slower now that Shukakus gone" Kankuro implied.

"That is true... but I don't need to take any time off" Gaara said in a tone that made his older brother know he wasn't changing his mind.

"Jeez... You like your job way to much" Kankuro said with a light smile, knowing that ever since he met Naruto Uzumaki from the leaf being Kazekage had been his little brothers dream.

As another hour waged on the groggy feeling in his head grew worse, and he was finding it harder and harder just to keep his head up. The Kazekage began to wonder whether he'd been taking the wrong amount of the medication the medic ninja had given him for his injuries. If so maybe that was the reason.

Kankuro kept giving curious looks at his brother Gaara. He had never seen him like this before. He almost looked... tired. Kankuro shrugged it off knowing there was nothing he could do to force Gaara out of his office.

Gaara forced himself to sit up straight thinking it would help him focus better. It didn't. He felt spacey, the black letters on the paper before him grew blurry and he couldn't understand them and then.... Everything went black.

"Hey gaara what do you think abou-" Kankuro couldn't finish his sentence, because he had to hold back a laugh at the mess of red hair face down on the desk. "Sleeping on the job huh Gaara?" Kankuro said quietly with a smile as he set down his files on the desk next to Gaara and walked out the door.

Outside he met a chunin carrying a few scrolls proabably about some mission. "Don't disturb Gaara he's very busy." Kankuro said without even stopping.

"But-" the chunin began.

"Whatever it is, can wait till tomorrow" Kankuro called back as he made his way home.

and so Gaara spent his first night of sleep with his head on his desk, and to wake up the next morning with ink smudged across his face and a painful kink in his neck.

Well thats the end of my second Naruto untold stories chapter hope you liked it. I might take requests or ideas, but I can't guarantee I'll do them. Anyways... comment, rate, subscribe all that good stuff ;)

Naruto untold stories: Happy Birhtday... I guess

Okay so this is a series of chapters in the Naruto casts life that they've never bothered putting in episodes so but I wish they would I'm calling it Naruto: Untold stories but depending one who its for I'll put a different name like if its for Sakura I'll put Sakura: Untold stories you get the idea ;)

It was a gloomy day October tenth. The air was chilly and the sky was gray with rain falling down in sheets. Most people stayed inside not because of the rain but because of the horrible event that had occurred on this same day sixteen years ago. From my window I watched shadowy figures dressed in black pass by with umbrellas. All heading in the same direction of course. They all had someone close die on this day. They all met there death the same way. "Damn fox..." I say bitterly and watch my breath fog up the window.

I pull myself away from my bedroom window to my kitchen. I open my cupboard looking at my various kinds of instant ramen, I see there's only two left of my favorite kind. I shrug while grabbing one of them "it is a special occasion..." I smile warily. Today's my seventeenth birthday. I know birthdays are supposed to be a happy occasion spent with friends and family, but I've never been able to celebrate it like that. There are just too many reasons not to. I frown while pouring facet water into my cup of ramen and placing it in the microwave. I lean against the counter waiting. Its quiet apart from the hum of the microwave and the rain tapping on my window. The microwave beeps, I take my ramen out and sit quietly at the table.

Most of my friends don't know its my birthday. I've never bothered to tell them, like I always tell myself there's too many reasons not to. Too many deaths. I guess it's just to hard to put a smile on knowing my parents died on this day... whoever they were. I've asked that old geezer plenty of times who they were. The answer was always the same. It won't bring back the dead. I suppose I should take that old mans advice and stop thinking about it. I don't know who my parents were and I don't know what a parents love is like but... I can't imagine them wanting me to feel this way on my birthday.

I tilt my head back and drink the last of the broth. From my chair i throw the paper ramen cup along with the cheap wood chopsticks into the garbage the cup hits the wall above it and falls into the bin, the chopsticks however don't make it and clatter onto the floor. I sigh heavily and push my chair out "guess I'll pick'em up later..." whenever that is I think to myself. It's only 4 p.m. and I planned to stay inside all day but my body can't handle that and I need some fresh air.

The rains lightened up a bit, but it's still enough to soak my jacket. Probably should have brought an umbrella I thought dumbly. I stick to the back streets. I want to avoid as many villagers in black as possible. I know it's not my fault. I know I'm not to blame for what happened in the past, but still... I can't help but feel guilty. I know most of the villagers don't see me as that demon fox anymore, but there are still those who think of my name as taboo. There are still some who put me at fault for the deaths of those close to them. Sometimes I wonder if I should be at the graveyard with the rest. As an apology, or do I have no right of even being there.

I slipped my hands in my pants pockets and curled them into fists as the cold reached my finger tips. Muddy water splashed my pants leg as I stepped in a puddle soaking through my shoes. Street lights flickered on as it reached 5 p.m, and I turned on to a familiar street that held Ichirakus ramen stand. Looking up ahead at it I was surprised to see light filling it "they're never open on Sundays" I say to myself.

"Naruto!" I heard my name suddenly called.

"Sakura!?!" I spun around. Her pink hair was wet and sticking to her face, and her day clothes as wet as my own.

She smiled lightly at me "I was just at your apartment, but you weren't there. Come on everyone's waiting!" She said brightly and placed a hand on my shoulder leading me closer to Ichirakus ramen stand.

"W-what do you mean... everyone?" I ask seriously.

"It's your birthday isn't it? Your supposed to celebrate" She said as she pulled back the short curtains and entered the ramen stand "with friends..."

"Happy birthday Naruto!" ten shinobi cheered wishing me happy birthday, and Sakura was right... I'm supposed to spend this day with friends despite whats happened in the past...
